In La Cocina dreams and desperation collide as the back-of-house staff of a bustling Times Square kitchen chase the elusive American dream. When money goes missing from the register, the spotlight falls on the undocumented workers in the kitchen, especially Pedro (Raúl Briones), a passionate dreamer entangled in a tumultuous love affair with Julia (Rooney Mara), a waitress grappling with her own commitments.

Director Alonso Ruizpalacios (Güeros, Museo, A Cop Movie) joins us to discuss the making of this workplace drama, opening October 25th in New York City, November 1st in Los Angeles, Chicago and San Francisco, and November 8th nationwide.
