Simply put, The Headless Woman is a film that burrows under your skin and stays there. Lucrecia Martel’s evocative thriller about a middle-aged bourgeois woman who descends into a near fugue state of identity crisis after hitting something while driving down a rural road observes the textures of Argentine class structure and society with delicate, simmering attention.
In this discussion Dennis Lim, director of programming at the Film Society of Lincoln Center and artistic director of the New York Film Festival, will lead us in illuminating the significance of Martel’s enigmatic social commentary.
