Hell is other people in Danish actor-turned-director Christian Tafdrup’s darkly comic, squirmingly violent psychological thriller. Morten Burian and Sidsel Siem Koch co-star as Bjørn and Louise, a gullible Danish couple who unwisely accept an invitation from their new Dutch vacation buddies, Patrick and Karin, played by Fedja van Huêt and Karina Smulders. But this warm gathering becomes increasingly sadistic as Patrick’s mask of fake friendship starts to slip. Launched at the Sundance Film Festival to great acclaim, SPEAK NO EVIL was later remade by U.S. horror specialist Blumhouse, with James McAvoy in the lead role.
