The Owl Who Married a Goose: An Eskimo Legend

Based on Inuit folklore, this animated short about a tragically mismatched interspecies romance is a darkly funny cautionary tale brought to life by Canadian-American director Caroline Leaf. The striking silhouettes of the animal protagonists dancing across the screen were painstakingly handcrafted by moving sand around on a glass surface, lit from below. Collaborators on the project included Inuit vocal and visual artists. Together with the director and her team they created a magical allegorical fable with evergreen appeal across all age-groups.
